Tyazhpromexport has completed preparations for the launch of the oxygen station of the pig iron plant in Myanmar
The Foreign Economic Association Tyazhpromexport of Rostec State Corporation has completed preparations for the launch of the technological unit of the oxygen station of the pig iron plant in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. The work was carried out as part of the third of the five stages of the station's restoration. All measures were implemented in full, on time and in accordance with established quality standards. As a result, an act was signed with the customer, which confirms the fulfillment of the obligations of the Russian side.
The next important stage of the contract will be the commissioning of the technological unit, during which a comprehensive start-up of the equipment will be carried out, automated control systems will be configured and all parameters will be checked in the operating mode. The full completion of contractual obligations and the commissioning of the oxygen station into commercial operation are scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.
The restoration of the pig iron plant in Myanmar started in February 2025 and is being conducted on the basis of three contracts. The first one includes five stages and is aimed at restoring the oxygen station. The second one provides for comprehensive technological support of work throughout the enterprise. The third one covers the restoration of the Romelt furnace and the purchase of necessary inventory. With the timely support of the customer, the plant can be launched in the first half of 2027.
